Laser sensor for weld seam tracking

We would like to introduce our newly developed optical laser sensor system for welding seam tracking.

The laser head detects the joint via three parallel lightbars in front of the process.

An edge offset, a component throat or a gap is required for seam detection. Signals for horizontal and vertical deviation are generated and used to correct the position.

The mechanical correction can be carried out via the Merkle LS series of longitudinal and cross slides. These are available in different lengths for strokes from 270 to 1,270 mm. Alternatively, the positioning can also be carried out via robot axes or existing longitudinal or cross slides.

We would like to demonstrate the system and discuss the possibilities for your applications.
